Ali Lamu has now moved its workshop from Shela village to Lamu town, closer to where most of our staff live. This was done to help reduce commuting hours for our staff and to ensure all of them are housed in one location together for more efficient production.
This has also helped us onboard more women into our team who preferred not to commute to Shela. Now the women are more comfortable continuing with their daily chores in their homes without needing a long commute.
We can now all work under one house, from the stitching, to the painting, the cleaning, the ironing, until it gets to your home. Our shop is however still based in Shela village where you can purchase your ready made bags or make an order.
